HOW TO GET YOUR HOME SUMMER ENTERTAINING READY IN 4 STEPS

Whether you’re planning on entertaining guests during the silly season, or you’re simply trying to give your home that “just moved in” feeling again, it’s always a good idea to give each room a thorough deep clean. We’ve got 4 basic house cleaning steps to share with you; making your home summer entertaining ready in no time.

1. Clear the Clutter 

It’s time to adopt a new mindset for your homely possessions. Room by room; find a new place for – or better yet, get rid of – anything that does not belong in the room but is visible. Clearing the clutter makes deep cleaning easier, plus seeing those tidy surfaces will give you the oomph to keep going. Make sure you spritz some air freshener into the air to give the room a mood lift.

2. Start High, Go Low.

No task is too overwhelming when you have a game plan. Tackle the big, hard-to-reach surfaces in this specific order: ceiling, ceiling trim, ceiling light fixtures (including bulbs), walls, the rest of the trim, and baseboards. By breaking up a daunting task into a smaller check list, one huge room is really just a series of small steps.

3. Windows of Opportunity

Here’s your chance to instantly make a huge difference in your home. It’s not hard to do, and the payoff is huge. First, vacuum the sills and tracks around each window. Then spritz the window with a natural glass cleaner from top to bottom. Let the cleaner do its thing for a minute, then squeegee it off.

4. From Flawed to Floored

Do this one now, and your rooms will turn drab – to – fab. The before and after is almost shocking! First thing’s first; move all the furniture, including beds and sofas. Whip out your vacuum, dust it off, and use the crevice tool to get into the corners and along the baseboards. If you have a hard floor, use a natural floor cleaner and a microfibre mop. If you have carpet, grab a natural carpet cleaner and give it a good shampoo.
